Literary Review: The management and the
provision of breastfeeding on infant by mother after childbirth with HIV/AIDS.

ABSTRACT
According to the united nations about 17
million women around the world between the ages of 15-49 is infected with
HIV/AIDS ( UNAIDS, 2010 ), HIV/AIDS can be transmitted from mother to baby
during pregnancy, intranatal, postnatal through a process of lactation and was
main cause of death in sub-saharan africa (Renaud, 2009). A method of writing
through literature the search using google search and then search to ebschost
then entered link CINALH and proquest web
site. Keywords used HIV, AIDS, postpartum, breastfeeding, and infant. Literature
that used are selected based on the criteria that were set early writer with a
population of mother after of childbirth that have babies aged ≤ 12 months,
design research using RCT, publication of the journal the last 10 years (
2004-2014 ). The result of this review of the literature declare that majority
of the mother after childbirth with HIV/AIDS have known that transmission of
HIV can occur during pregnancy, childbirth and breastfeeding, and the majority
of babies who are breastfed from mother after childbirth with HIV/AIDS show the
level larger percentage of HIV positive compared to infants who get the formula milk, so also with the baby get
breastfeeding and formula milk higher to infected with HIV and AIDS. Based on
literature who writer review obtained the conclusion that HIV/AIDS can be
transmitted during pregnancy, childbirth, and lactation. WHO (2000), UNICEF
(2007), UNAIDS (2010), UNFPA (2003) recommended for mother with HIV/AIDS have
to avoid providing affordable breastfeeding only if formula milk, worthy,
acceptable , sustainable, and safe .
